Blogsam and Jetsam

Flotsam is the part of the wreckage of a ship or its cargo found floating on the water. Jetsam is cargo or parts of a ship that are deliberately thrown overboard, as to lighten the ship in an emergency, and that subsequently either sinks or is washed ashore. This is my personal blog version of the above. Loot freely.

I'm annoyed that the world is going crazier faster than it used to be. But it's interesting to watch.

Flowers With Other Stuff First

A huge snapping turtle wandered into our yard a couple mornings ago:

It was gone by the time we went out to catch the schoolbus. Those things can move pretty fast when they want.

I got this INCREDIBLE shawl from my Sister, see?

I just totally love it...so does Eldest; she couldn't stop singing its praises all the first night.

Meanwhile the iris are still doing their thing--much better than the one bloom of last season:

FINALLY the peonies have started blooming--Youngest called me outside last night specifically to show me:

Those are the only two blossoms so far...but you can see all the budly glory waiting in the wings.
